IBOD is the division of TAPI tasked to advance the application of new technologies in industries, communities and the academe by providing financial support and business operations improvement services.
IDD is mainly responsible for providing assistance to Filipino inventors by upholding the intellectual property system as well as the business development of inventions and technologies.
Also, funding support for payment of filing fees for applications for utility model registration of patent may be availed of by Filipino inventors, researchers or individuals. It also encourages creative research and inventive activities and investments in research and development by securing, for the inventors, the protection of appropriate IP rights and interests related to their inventions; and facilitates technology transfer.
Testing and Analysis Assistance Program - The Program grants a financial assistance to technologists, inventors and researchers needing laboratory services: analyses and performance testing.
Industry-Based Invention Development IBID Program - The IBID Program supports the development of viable inventions through its application and adaption to existing industry practices, and the production of the commercial prototype of the invention to be installed in the actual operations. The collaborative undertaking among TAPI, the inventor and the adoptor involves testing, debugging and other refinements for the invention as placed in a real working environment.
Funds will be provided to cover pre-commercialization activities such as pilot-scale testing, field testing, pilot production for market testing and commercialization including raw materials, labor and overhead costs directly related to the production and the purchase of the equipment needed to manufacture the new inventions. The Program involves a two-day seminar-workshop for elementary, high school and college students. Tax Exemption Assistance Program - The Program is tasked to evaluate and process request from inventors for tax and duty exemption.
